I often wonder why we do the things we do. Why we make excuses to not do something we constantly think about, why we assume somebody else knows exactly what we’re talking about and get mad when they don’t. Why do we insist on making life hard for ourselves and look at things negatively. Why do we think we’re better than each other when you know we are all the same, just trying to live and get through the day. Why don’t we smile as much as we used to when we were younger. Why don’t we have as much fun as we did when we were younger? We can drive places, have money to buy things, and actually go out on our own and have freedom.
Life can be a weird game when you think of it this way. It will swallow you whole, and spit you out when its done with you. So stop thinking about the why we don’t do this and why do we do that, and just be. It took me 22 years and a couple people saying this to figure that out. You’ve gotta be the change in your own life, no one should/will change you.
When I think of all the things I hate/hated about myself I realized, I was just wasting energy. It’s up to you to change those parts about yourself that you don’t like. The first step I think is realizing them. If it helps write them down and do something every day that exemplifies changing them or at least changing your thoughts on them. Strive to make yourself a better person. I’ve realized I can’t change other people, so all I can try to do is lead by example. Influence people around you, reach out to people you care about more, and help people when they’re in need. These are all notes and goals I’ve made for myself in order to become a better person in life.
Life can be stressful sometimes there’s no doubting that, but don’t be too down on yourself when it does, because chances are most other people feel the same. As we grow older you start seeing life and time just moves by sooo quickly. I hope you can see this as a wake-up call and realize how important every moment, every person and every day is. So don’t waste it feeling bad for yourself or thinking negatively, use it as motivation to pull something positive out of every day you have no matter what your doing. Make someone laugh, cheer someone up, make a new friend or help someone out. I can’t stress this enough when something is bothering you, reach out!!!! Because the more you keep it in, the more time you waste not being able to be yourself and fully live in the moment.
