Travelling is one of the most rewarding and exciting experiences you can give yourself. That feeling and reward of making all that hard work that you put yourself through worth it. I've traveled a lot this year because I've found it so much fun. I did Mexico for 12 days, went to Montreal for a buddies bachelor party, and did a road trip through the states for a week. We did Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Washington D.C, Jersey Shore, New York, and went through Vermont. All were very different experiences. Today I'm going to talk about Mexico.
Mexico was amazing. Seeing the other side of things when people always say how dangerous it is. When i was there, I didn't see that at all. My friends family own two condos there, so it was all off resort. I met so many amazing people along my way, I made new friends that I still keep in contact with. We stayed in a Hostel for 2 nights and I would have to say that was one of the coolest experiences I've had! Being able to meet so many amazing and different people from all around the world was really cool, everyone was there for different reasons. Some were from Mexico, Canada, Europe, and the States. Hearing all their stories just really made me see no matter where we're from or what childhood we've had, we are all the same. Looking for happiness and just trying to live life and get through the day.
The beautiful landscape and local atmosphere made this trip such a memorable experience for me. We stayed in Bucerias, a city about half an hour from the major city Puerto Vallarta. Puerto Vallarta is a famous, and very contagious party city which was made more famous by the movie "Sundown". Very good movie btw, definitely recommend watching it. It really shows off the beautiful and crazy city that is Puerto Vallarta. From hiking through forests leading to secret beaches, to taking bus rides through the mountains and into the city, or just going out on the town to local hotspots and clubs, I was really exposed to an awesome Mexican experience. We didn't do anything too "authentically Mexican" but honestly after visiting, I think that is the Mexican culture. To live in the moment. Everyone seemed less stressed, buildings were as bright and colorful as the people, food was amazing and the party atmosphere was electric. Now, they still work and everyday isn't a big party but people seem so much closer and accepting there, and I'm so glad i got to see the true side of Mexico. Just being able to see so much landscape and meeting such amazing people made this trip one to remember, and I owe it all to my friend Joe and his family.
All and all this trip turned out to be a great success (insert Borat Gif) and I wouldn't take anything back from it. The more i travel the more i get to see that we are all so similar. Travelling is always an amazing experience and if you haven't done it yet, I highly suggest you do. And I recommend you visit Mexico at some point in your life, don't judge a book by it's cover.
